Experience the Best Mexican Cuisine on Metairie Rd, LA

I’m a California Native who has traveled this country in search of the best authentic Mexican cuisine, I have over 26 years of restaurant experience. I was honestly very impressed with the tacos, the salsas and the cleanliness of the kitchen. The concept is similar to Chipotle and is a fast-casual style restaurant. They have a full bar menu and bar seating, if that interests you. Yes, the parking lot is small, but I can assure you as a restaurant consultant, that 99% of local restaurants have a parking issue on their hands. I parked down the street and took a short stroll on a beautiful day and was able to enjoy some slamming tacos and a sangria for under $25.

This place was pretty good. I got steak tacos and felt like the steak could have been marinated better or have more flavor. My husband and daughter got a bowl. Both of which they liked because they were empty before I could eat 2 tacos, but this suggests portion size could have been better probably. You can barely hear the employees behind the glass and at the cash register. Maybe they could talk louder. It was a very clean and open area though. The bartender helped clean up a spill out our table, so I appreciated that. I would visit again but maybe not get the steak.

Food was well made, we got it to go but it was still fresh when we ate it. Chicken was not at all dry, which happens at so many other places. Order was made quickly. Will be returning!

Ordered online. Food was ready and easy to grab. Love the restaurant and the setup but getting out of that location can be difficult during lunch time. Food is usually delicious at Felipe’s but I felt my food this time was below par. I ordered Tortilla soup (which is my favorite) but it was lacking flavor and the Philly quesadilla was also lacking flavor. I wasn’t impressed today and I usually am.
