As we’re nearly halfway through February, I’m sure that your New Year’s resolutions are slowly dying. Sure, you started out 2016 with salads for lunch every day, but gradually you’ve gone from leafy greens topped with fresh vegetables to a bowl of croutons and you’re looking for some help. Look no further, because Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria has several healthy options to help you re-start your resolutions. Here are my favorite healthy menu hacks and item swaps:
The easiest way to eat healthy at Felipe’s is with the Plato. Traditionally, the Plato comes with rice, beans, meat, pico de gallo, corn tortillas, and any other toppings you desire. If you’re looking to make it a little healthier, order veggies instead of rice (for a small upcharge) and black beans instead of pinto. Try and stay away from the cotija, queso, and crema, but load up on any of the fresh and healthy toppings like corn, cabbage slaw, cilantro, guacamollio, and pickled veggies
Another way to eat healthier at Felipe’s is to order corn tortillas instead of flour. Not only are they better for you, but I think they’re tastier!
If you’re in Naples, you can order your fish or shrimp grilled instead of fried. Our special (and top-secret) marinade allows you to taste the freshness of the seafood. Try our tacos or burritos “baja style” and add on some cabbage slaw and our signature, zesty baja sauce!
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be hard, especially at Felipe’s! You’ll feel good enjoying our fresh food and authentic recipes. Come on in to try some of these menu hacks, or explore and find some of your own!
