Why do you celebrate Repeal day? The Museum of the American Cocktail celebrates it because:
…[It] marks a return to the rich traditions of craft fermentation and distillation, the legitimacy of the American bartender as a contributor to the culinary arts, and the responsible enjoyment of alcohol as a sacred social custom.
But that doesn’t mean you need any special reason to celebrate Repeal day. You can celebrate because it’s Saturday, because the weather finally dropped below 80 degrees, or because the Saints just might win on Sunday. Whatever your reason for celebration, we hope you’ll join us Saturday at any of our Felipe’s Mexican Taqueria locations, or Tiki Tolteca above the French Quarter Felipe’s where we’ll be celebrating the art of the glorious cocktail.
Our bartenders at Felipe’s will be crafting their own riffs on classic cocktails like the reposado, tequila old fashioned, pisco sour, and the original hurricane just to help you celebrate this momentous day in American history. Tiki Tolteca bartenders will be having their fair share of fun too, by running potent classic takes on Tiki cocktails.
We hope you come out to celebrate our stellar bartenders, the craft of the cocktail, and the right to drink. We have a feeling we’ll see you there…
